I moved out of marketing and sales roles within building materials markets into recruitment in 2000, motivated by many frustrating experiences as a candidate. I worked exclusively in the B2B sector at Morgan & Banks, recruiting sales and marketing roles from graduates through to senior management. I also had the opportunity to work with some of the best recruiters in Australia. I sat at their feet… I listened, I learned, and I applied best practice. I was lucky to have amazing mentors, some of which I still have today.I have seen the recruitment industry change and adapt over the last 25 years. I am a constant student of best practice and the effective application of those best practices to improve the experience of clients, candidates and our team at Saunders Lynn.For nearly 25 years, I have developed in-depth knowledge and experience recruiting in the B2B marketplace, specifically focusing on building and architecture, industrial and education markets with clients such as Boral, CSR, James Hardie, GWA, Laminex, The Living Edge, Sebel Furniture and Armstrong among many others.Today, I spend most of my time working on General Management roles and senior executive positions in sales and marketing. If I am not networking and assessing senior executive candidates, I am sharing what I have learned over my many years in recruitment with my team or with potential candidates to help them build the careers they have always wanted. Your responsibilities
  • Drive a sales and customer service culture throughout the business through training and ongoing coaching
  • Manage and develop a high-performing sales team 
  • Write and manage the sales strategy and playbook
  • Drive effective execution of the sales plan and maintain and improve margins
  • P&L responsibility
  • Effective launch of new products and promote their uptake across the market
  • Explore and implement new business development strategies 
  • Responsible for the ongoing development of national sales meetings and sales conference

Who are you?

  • You have a proven track record of success in a senior sales leadership role, ideally at a national level, (or a large state management role)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong on analytics and data and turning insights into revenue
  • Able to work with a wide variety of different channels to market, via trades, builders, specifiers, dealer/retail networks
  • Able to travel interstate and overseas, as this is always a part of a national sales role
  • Tertiary business qualifications are ideal
