"As the light of spirit penetrates
every cell of your body it dispels the darkness" |

Antara Yoga Classes are structured practicing hatha
yoga postures with attention to physical alignment, breathe & internal
body work. Antara translates to “as within/as without”. Our energy
field (aura) interpenetrates our physical body & surrounds us – it
creates our physical self. When we really grasp this concept of
inter-connection, then we understand that in aligning & working our body
& focusing our mind through the practice of yoga, we are transforming our
energy field, i.e. - physical, emotional, mental & spiritual bodies. The principles of working with the meridians (energy channels) are applied during classes to specifically strengthen the organic body, improving the natural cycle of health on all levels. Yoga is an ancient art and science to
create balance and healing, supporting us to move into our full potential. Yoga is an art of healing Yoga postures, although appearing to
be static, are a whole body experience, stimulating and affecting endocrine
glands, muscles, nerves, organs and meridians. In learning and eventually knowing
how to hold the postures correctly, we are able to move energy to create a
more balanced, healing flow throughout our body. Some common issues to be
healed through yoga are back pain, tight hips, the digestive system, colds
and flu, stress and muscle tension. Yoga is non-competitive, each
individual works at their own level of flexibility, strength and self
development. Mats and props are available to use
by all, please have clean feet and don’t use strong perfumes. It is best not
to eat before class, wait at least 4 hours after a meal and 2 hours after a
light snack. Consistency and a positive attitude
is the key. Your commitment to do class at least once a week will ensure
ongoing awareness, both physical and intuitive, remind you to consciously
breathe, relax and enjoy being in your body. |
